FIX AND TRIX

I wasn't quite ready to start this page, however I will start it with the most helpful and usefule item know, and will add more content in the near future.

Water stains and mold on walls, ceilings and other:

Simply use a mixture of ¼ bleach and ¾ water, actually I use ½ and ½. BE SURE NOT TO GET IT ON ANYTHING YOU DON’T WANT BLEACHED. I use a finger pump sprayer from a beauty aid product such as hair spray, hair thickener, ect. You can use a trigger sprayer, careful these often leak around the trigger.

Light stains will disappear with one application. It may take 5 or more applications through an afternoon to get rid of the coal black stains.

A few new years days ago I sprayed my office down with a garden pump sprayer. Presto! 15 years of old cigarette smoke residue…. Gone. I wish I had done it at the start of 2008 as thanks to a cancer scare I quit smoking.

Mildew On Roofs

This once was a problem mainly in the south. I see it more and more in the northern climates. The mold does feed somewhat on your roofing, so if you remove it your are doing more than improving looks. The solution is the same, bleach and water. Its best to kill it with plenty of bleach then rinse with a garden hose, or let the rain do it.

CAUTION: Using a power washer could take untold years off your roof.
